Mainframe technologies are still alive, in spite of what technologists say. In fact, most of the "modern" technologies concepts take their idea from the mainframe.

One nice thing about mainframes is their technologies are backward compatible. There are still programs written in the 1980's that still run today, even after many operating system version upgrades and software upgrades. Some have not even been recompiled since they were initially used literally in the last century.

The videos in this channel discuss basic mainframe concepts. I will use the MVS Tk4 system to illustrate some mainframe concepts. MVS Tk4 is an operating system based on the MVS/SP circa 1980's. Even if it is decades old, the basic concepts still apply.
