In 1995, after the Sonic trilogy on the Genesis was all said and done, Sega unleashed a different creature onto the gaming populace. Ironically enough, this being was the runner-up to the mascot position and there are some reasons why: "YOU'RE TOO SLOW!" "COME ON, STEP IT UP!" This guy just... wasn't fast enough. But while this lad may have lacked in his feet, he more than made up for it in his hands!

This is Ristar for the Sega Genesis and this is one of the best non-Sonic platformers that I can think of recommending to everyone. Blessed with gorgeous visuals, solid level design and an amazing soundtrack, Ristar is a treat for any player who's looking for the next thing after Sonic & Knuckles. Of course, it's pretty tough to one-up that game and all that it did, but Ristar certainly does its best. Throwing you into seven colorful locations, each with two areas and a boss arena! There are also bonus stages, which I plan to find and complete all of them for you all! Our hero's goal though? Saving his father and the galaxy from Kaiser Greedy's and his "Crazy Kings". So join me as we crash down into the star-studded universe of Ristar!

First stop takes place on the planet in which Ristar was summoned to try and clean up. It seems to be blessed with beautiful vistas of grass-covered cliffs and bountiful forests that can sometimes create too good of a shade. Maybe we can have a chat with the elder and see what's up? But wait, he's... not so happy to see me right now...
