RF tutorials - The Varicap or Varactor Diode
In this video I look at one of the basic components used in modern RF circuitry - the varicap (sometimes called the varactor) diode. This component is widely used in tuning circuits to replace mechanical variable capacitors but it also has applications in frequency multiplication. I look at how the component works and then try to perform some experiments with it.
