I tried blender for the first time šš
I used blender 2.82 for the first time to create a Jack O Lantern pumpkin š¬ I finally created and renderer my first 3d model in blender. I made a Jack O Lantern pumpkin since my audience is mostly from USA and UK which the majority of them is celebrating halloween so I didn't hesitate to make this video as a little gift š and I tried to show you my experience of how I figured out to use the software and what was my struggles after watching few tutorials without any practice or experience. When I open blender I usually close it after few seconds but I decided to finally hit the record button and dive into the program conveying for you the difficulties that I faced and how I managed to pass them after few minutes of thinking and thinkering with the ocean of properties and features in blender.
NOTE: The video is fast forward 2x times to save your time from 50:18 minutes to 25:09. You can also click the gear in the bottm right corner of the video. You'll find speed. You can crank it up even more to x2. Which means you'll watch the whole video in 12:35 minutes only!
In the end, I have slighly changed my opinion about blender. It's a really great program and I think they can't make the design any simpler. But the richness of the program can intimidate beginners like me. I have one suggestion for the blender team that can make the program more beginner friendly is to allow the user to go through a beginner program where only the bare essentials of tools are included and activating more features as the user progress through the built-in tutorials but of course making sure they can skip any tutorial or allow any new tool or a collection of tools through the settings. Maybe presets of tools?
The community Blender's tutorials are really good but they can easily miss something and they can get outdated pretty quickly and settings may differ through updates leaving the user dissapointed and feeling lost in the vast ocean of blender.
If you're a skilled blender user. Make sure to give us some tips in the comments down below. I'll really appreciate it!
