Hello and welcome to this tutorial on how to set up and run your own Minecraft server.
This is a step by step and easy to follow tutorial that explains everything in easy to comprehend words.
This first part is on how to setup your JAVA that you need to run the server and how to make sure that you can modify your server settings later.
Java can be downloaded from here: https://www.java.com/en/download
To check your JAVA version, go into Command Prompt (click on start button, go to RUN and type CMD then enter) and then type
java --version
To open the advanced system window type
control sysdm.cpl
What you need to enter under pathways is this.
For 32-bit systems: ;"c:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin"
For 64-bit systems: ;"c:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin"
Make sure that there's only one semicolon between your previous entry and this entry.
