#Voltlog #InTheMail #mailbag Also for my activity board project I was thinking I might need a very small audio amplifier to play some audio feedback and I looked through my existing modules and I didn’t have anything tiny that would work ok for a half a watt speaker up to 1W so I ordered these two from aliexpress. This blue PCB is model number HXJ8002, single channel approximately 1W into an 8ohm load, input voltage range 2-5.5V, takes a stereo input which I assume it mixes together.

The second one with purple PCB is based on the popular PAM8302 class D amplifier chipset, also a mono output, similar input voltage range 2-5.5V, rated for 1.3W output into an 8ohm load. The only advantage that I see with the purple board is the adjustment pot which might help you fine tune the gain.

mmWave radar sensors are very popular these days, I’ve been working on some projects based on one of these sensors as part of my professional work but it seems like a popular hobby grade choice is this module from HiLink, it’s the LD2410 part number, works at 24GHz, only has 1 TX and one RX antenna so given the frequency, the nr of antennas and it’s output power this won’t give you the ability to sense at more than a few meters, it won’t give you the ability to sense things like a person breathing rhythm, it won’t give you the ability to determine the position of a person on an X Y plane but still it will give you the ability to detect a person's presence. I wanted to test this to see if I can find a use for it in my smart home projects given its availability and low cost. The nice thing about this is that it has a UART interface so you are getting pretty much the data you are interested in, already processed by the onboard MCU. I also ordered another model which did not arrive yet, that oneh showed 4 antennas but they seem to be coupled together 2 by 2 so that might not be able to provide any extra positional data but just more sensitivity. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6fX7GAhB94
