Making silver(I) oxide

Silver(I) oxide can be used to prepare a variety of silver salts by simply reacting it with the corresponding acid. Most silver salts can be prepared this way as long as the target salt is somewhat soluble in water. Preparing silver chloride by reacting the oxide with hydrochloric acid wouldn´t lead to good results because silver chloride is nearly insolubel in water.
