112 - Changing the firmware for the transistor Tester kit
TheHWcave
This video is about changing the firmware for the transistor tester kit which I built in part 1. This is definitely worth it because the new firmware by the two people maintaining this project offers so much more in test capabilities for this hardware.
Part 1 (building the kit): https://youtu.be/h9_XkkmFfAk Documentation and firmware can be found here: https://github.com/mikrocontroller-net/transistortester (this particular kit seems to be known as the: mega328_color_kit)
I am using a TL866II+ for burning the firmware and a program called Minipro by David Griffiths. The compilation and installation is shown here: in https://youtu.be/NXwT7NL4PQM and I am using David's instructions for compiling minipro to setup part of the programming environment on a fresh install of Linux Mint. See https://gitlab.com/DavidGriffith/minipro/ for the commands used.
I put up my configuration and firmware files for the two versions shown in the video 1.13K and 1.46M on my Github page https://github.com/TheHWcave/TransistorTester
