Overview of the Bastion Bolt Action Stainless Pen (thankfully not marketed as a tactical pen...)

Smooth action, smooth feeling, decent weight and perfect for fidgeting with!
Even though I love my Maxpedition Spikata "Tactical" pen, it's been 5 years and I wanted a new ~ £40 nice pen. This is so perfect. It has some heft to it, so it feels substantial. It has a high quality feel to it and the machining and finishing on it are top notch. You cannot even see where you undo it to change the refill it is that precise!
I never liked the whole "Tactical Pen" branding on pens because even though in the US pens like that are sold as weapons, in the UK anything carried for the purpose of being a weapon, even coins or anything, becomes an offensive weapon and can get you arrested. I just like pens with substance to them, something of quality that I'm not going to want to leave laying around and something that feels good to use. So this new Bastion Bolt Action pen is a new perfect for me.
It is a full length pen which does not need any caps to be unscrewed before using. It also takes regular Parker refills, which is good for me because I prefer to use Fisher space pen refills, which come with a plastic cap which makes them fit Parker pens.
So, the action on it is lovely and smooth and really satisfying to use and/or fidget with if you are into such things.
So, I have a new pen which has some heft, is smooth in operation, smooth in feeling, lovely to write with and it now has a space pen refill so I can write at odd angles, upside down, in the rain etc.
Fantastic pen and really good quality. You might find kind of similar pens a bit cheaper, but I feel the cost is justified by the perfect machining and finish of the pen. Everything just looks and feels perfect.
Enjoy!
