YouTube channels are getting hacked like this..

So, youtube channels are getting hacked. No matter if it's a small channel with a decent viewership or a huge channel with a huge viewership, they're all being targeted, and are potentially hacked.

If you regularly watch youtube, you might have already known this, because this has been in the news, lots of YouTubers irrespective of the type of content they make, lost their channels.

Now the obvious reason why one may want to hack a youtube channel, or in other words, steal a youtube channel is so that they can make a profit off it. So when a YouTube channel is stolen, the first thing hackers do, is re-brand the entire channel, like changing the channel's avatar, channel art, deleting all existing videos, and uploading new random videos, etc., so that it doesn't look like a stolen channel. They then sell the channel on platforms like accs-market.com.

One more common mistake people do, that may result in them losing their youtube channel, or their google account, in general, is giving unnecessary apps permissions to their google account.

You see, whenever you're logging in to an application with your Google account, it presents you with a consent screen like this where you can see all the permissions that the app is requesting you. Make sure that none of these permissions you're giving are unnecessary. Unless its an application you trust, feel free to deny the permissions.
