How to Opt Out of Certain Ad Topics on Facebook

Tired of getting ads on Facebook around topics you aren’t interested in? We’re here to help. Watch this video to learn how to opt out of specific ad topics on Facebook.

To begin, open the Facebook app, then tap the menu icon in the bottom right corner. Scroll down and tap Settings & Privacy. Then select Settings. Scroll down and tap Ad Preferences. Then select Hide Ad Topics. Then, select a topic you’d like to hide ads about. Now choose how long you want to hide these ads for: 6 months, 1 year, or permanently. If there’s an ad topic you want to hide that you don’t see listed here, tap Suggest Other Topics. Type in the topics you’d like to hide, then tap Submit Suggestion. The input you provide here will be used by Facebook to improve the ads presented to you.
