To lock an app with Face ID on iPhone, first make sure your device is updated to iOS 18 or newer, and you have Face ID already set up on your device. Then, hold down the icon of an app you want to lock on your home screen. In the pop-up menu, select Require Face ID. To confirm, tap Require Face ID. Your Face ID lock will then be set up, and you will need to verify with Face ID to unlock the app and open it. This will prevent others from being able to open certain apps without your permission. If Face ID is attempted and failed twice, an option to unlock with your device passcode will appear as a backup. If you change your mind and want to remove the Face ID lock, hold down the app icon and select Don’t Require Face ID. Face ID will verify your choice, and the lock will be removed.
