How to Enable YouTube Dark Mode on Mobile and Desktop (2023)

To enable dark mode on the YouTube mobile app, open YouTube and tap your profile icon in the bottom right corner. Then tap the Settings icon. Tap General. Then select Appearance. Finally, tap Dark Theme to switch to dark mode. If you’d like to easily be able to switch between light and dark mode without opening your YouTube settings, select the Use Device Theme option. This way if you switch your device to dark mode, the YouTube app will automatically switch to dark mode to match.

To enable dark mode on the YouTube desktop site, go to youtube.com in your preferred browser. Then click your profile icon in the top right corner. Select Appearance. Then click Dark Theme. Just like with the Youtube mobile app, you can also opt for the Use Device Theme option to have YouTube automatically switch to dark mode when you put your computer into dark mode.
