How to Comment on Instagram Stories 2024

Instagram has added a new feature allowing users to share public comments on other people’s Instagram stories. Watch this video to learn how to allow comments on your own stories and how to leave comments on other users’ Instagram stories!

To enable comments on your own Instagram story, open the Instagram app and go to your profile. Tap the menu icon in the top right corner. Scroll down and select Comments. Then tap Stories. You can then choose if you want to allow comments from everyone, only people you follow, or turn story comments off. You can also block specific people from commenting on your story if you like.

To leave a comment on someone else’s Instagram story, open their story and tap the comment icon in the bottom left corner to open the comment section. Here you can type in and post a comment just like you would on any other Instagram post. These comments will be visible to anyone else who can see this person’s story, so be mindful that others can see what you post. The user who posted the story will be notified that you left them a comment. If you don’t see the comment icon in the bottom left corner, this user has likely not enabled story comments or has limited comment access to specific users.
