How to Use Procreate to Create Traditional Oil Paintings
TNArtist
I've been diving more and more into using Procreate to make higher-quality traditional oil paintings.
This video is a quick “over the shoulder” type of how-to paint video.
The goal is to quickly go over my process of painting an ocean scene. As always, let me know any questions, thoughts, or comments down below.
They're all appreciated, almost as much as I appreciate you taking the time to visit my channel and watching my videos.
If you want to support the channel further, head over to my Etsy store: https://www.etsy.com/shop/tnartistshop and download a print or two or share it with your friends.
As mentioned, this was painted in Procreate on my iPad, but you could easily paint it in one of my other favorites, ArtRage. It works better on the desktop version though - you have more tools.
If you want to get a free, fully-functional trial of the ArtRage software you can at http://bit.ly/ArtRage6-FreeTrial (you just can't save or print from the trial version)
As you’ll see in this video (and my others) I use a lot of traditional acrylics, watercolor, and oil painting techniques when painting digitally within any of the programs I use such as Procreate, Rebelle 4, and ArtRage.
It’s my hope that you can learn how to create artwork and painterly textures.
For this video, I’m almost completely using the "out of the box" tools that are available in Procreate. I am also only painting in about 3 layers. While with some of my other paintings I may occasionally use layer effect features like Overlay or Multiply to get that bit of final “pop”, I didn't on this one.
I hope you enjoyed this video and it inspires you to try your hand at painting.
Leave comments and questions below. I try to respond as quickly as I can. Again, get out there and try this. You can always start with the free trial of ArtRage 6! http://bit.ly/ArtRage6-FreeTrial
