Alteryx - How to perform Correlation Analysis
Mukesh Singh
In this tutorial, we will learn "How to perform Correlation Analysis by using Pearson Correlation Tool" in Alteryx tool.
The Pearson Correlation tool uses the Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient (sometimes referred to as the PMCC, and typically denoted by r) to measure the correlation (linear dependence) between two variables X and Y, giving a value between +1 and −1 inclusive. It is widely used in the sciences as a measure of the strength of linear dependence between two variables.* Correlation analysis is used to understand the degree and strength of the linear relationship between the two variables. In Alteryx, choose the Pearson Correlation tool from the Data Investigation tab in order to calculate the correlation coefficient between the two variables. The Pearson coefficient is obtained by dividing the covariance of the two variables by the product of their standard deviations.*
