Why More Choice Makes You Unhappy

The reason why having more choices makes us unhappy is quite tricky. As the number of options increases, the costs, in time and effort, of gathering the information needed to make a good choice also increase. This is also outlined in the book called The Paradox of Choice by Barry Schwartz.

If you can't stop looking until you are 100% sure you found the best choice in terms of buying a new device, a piece of clothing or furniture, or even an experience, you are a maximizer. If you are satisfied with your decision that passes a good enough threshold, you are a satisficer.
