Palestinians in Gaza React to Ismail Haniyeh Assassination

“The assassination of Haniyeh will stop the ongoing negotiations.” — red. media spoke to Palestinians in Gaza about the assassination of Gaza-ruling group leader Ismail Haniyeh. The assassination of Haniyeh not only bears many consequences for Gaza but also for Palestine as a whole and the wider region.

Haniyeh was instrumental in the ongoing ceasefire negotiations, and with his killing, all hope among Gazans for a successful ceasefire agreement has been extinguished. The assassination, which is said to have been carried out by Israel, only proved to many that it has no interest in ending its genocidal war in Gaza.

While Palestinians in Gaza now expect further regional escalation of Israel’s genocidal war in Gaza, many refuse to let this development affect their determination even close to 10 months into the war.

“Palestinians will keep res!%t1ng, no matter the presence of Haniyeh or any other Palestinian leader. Palestine keeps res!%t1ng. We were shocked by this news, but it doesn’t mean the end of the res!$t@nce,” a resident in Gaza said.
