Detecting Fields
Patrick A Bartmess
This begins as a dopey "Look at My Stereo" video but develops into a sort of ghost hunt. Here's the link to the video I used for education. https://youtu.be/_30A_FD3UCU?t=71 There are many variations of this circuit because it's such as simple concept. It basically uses diodes and a transistor to create an open-ended circuit with high impedence. The open end is the "antenna". This attracts the energy of nearby electromagnetic fields and when you attach an LED to it, you can observe the presence of those fields. Of course there are more sophisticated designs and because this one is so basic, it's rather unpredicable (as you will see).

If you have read this far, I'll reveal what I detected at the end. It was my garage space heater that switches on automatically whenever the temp dips below 40 degrees. It puts a sudden heavy load on my electrical system whenever its starts. I didn't realize that until later but instead of editing the video I decided to leave in a Scooby Doo Mystery for the internet to solve. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSRL5YROYzA
