Ubuntu - White Death

I spent some time with Ubuntu Linux on the desktop during the spring and quickly discovered that the distribution has truly entered the enterprise realm. In addition to constantly nag me about restarts to install system updates, Ubuntu has even gotten its own "White Screen Of Death".

On my XPS 15 9570, the "White Screen Of Death" would rear its ugly head whenever I tried to hot-swap external monitors.
