The Art, Science and Luck behind a Linux YouTube Channel
OldTechBloke
Running a YouTube channel is not just about producing great content, it's about developing a process, making appropriate use of hardware, and taking steps to ensure that your video actually gets found and watched by potential fans. Oh, and lets not forget the large dollop of luck that's also required for a channel to become successful. Art, science and Luck probably sums it up nicely. Creative skills are certainly necessary, as are definitive steps to ensure the video gets watched. But there's a huge number of unknowns that come down to luck.
In this video ramble I review what I've learned over the past year, as well as taking the opportunity to answer some questions that keep cropping up regarding what hardware and software I use, how I have managed to grow the channel, and yes, to some of those of took umbridge at my criticism of Kdenlive in a previous video.
It's a bit longer than usual, so be warned. However, I hope I've given some insight into how my channel has evolved in the way it has, and how I will keep it evolving.
I hope you enjoy the video :-)
