Stop Apologising - Linux is Doing Just Fine in 2021

So for the end of 2021 I thought it might be interesting to do an opinion piece against the background of the recent Linux Tech Tips 'challenge' and the constant focus on Linux becoming more user-friendly and more windows-like by many commentators.

You won't be surprised to hear that I don't think Linux or Linux Users have anything to apologise for in relation to our preferred operating system or the way that we use that system.

Linux doesn't appeal to, or will suit, all computer users, but on it's own that is not a justification for making the operating system more windows-like. The uniqueness or Linux is its greatest strength and if it works for you, great. If it doesn't, then don't use it.
