Linux Lite - A 'Gateway' Distro for Windows Users
OldTechBloke
There are many distros out there that we think of as user friendly, but not that many that explicitly pitch themselves as a gateway for new users, and specifically windows users.
Linux Lite does this, although it is suitable for anyone who enjoys the clean lines and functionality of XFCE.
Surprisingly perhaps, it's not as lightweight, in terms of RAM useage, as you might expect, but it comes with a range of easy to use features - custom settings GUIs and links to configuration scripts
Out of the box it also has a software manager that gives a new user, from windows or not, the option of quickly installing some of the most common applications they probably already use.
Overall this is a well put together distro. It didn't blow me away, but it's not exactly designed with users like me in mind.
I hope you enjoy the video :-)
