With modern Linux systems running a full Desktop Environment, notifications and media keys usually work out of the box.

This is rarely the case with standalone window managers!

In this video I run through how to identify the key codes generated by multimedia keys, how to add media keys to custom key bindings, and how to link up the output of these keys to the Dunst notification server.
