Antix Linux - The Lightweight Distro That Packs a Punch!
Antix is a fully loaded Debian Buster distro designed to run on older machines with as little as 256MB of RAM or as a live usb install.
However, there's no reason why it needs to go on older hardware when it also runs great on newer hardware.
Like MX Linux it is a child of the old Mepis Linux, which will go down in Linux history as one of the all time great distros. In fact it still has the feel of Mepis to those who used it
This video looks at a default install on virtualbox, which results in a very cleanly configured icewm desktop with the rox file browser. Other options include JWM, herbsluftwm and fluxbox
Overall this is a great little distro for beginners and expereinced users alike. It contains the tools that new users can turn to when they need to leverage the power of the command line, but doesn't impose automated options on those who would prefer to configure a system for themselves.
