Programming in BASIC on the Color Computer - Chapter 24 - Play it again CoCo!
ogStevieStrow
Chapter 24 in programming in BASIC on the Color Computer introduces us to the PLAY command that you can use to generate elaborate music and sound effects.
The PLAY command allows you to specify actual notes and octaves, and modify the length, tempo, and volume of each note, giving us a lot more flexibility than the SOUND command.
If you play very fast and short notes you can generate some pretty nice arcade like sound effects, which is what I show off in my demo.
A disk image with all of the demos seen here is available on the chapters's blog post: http://ogsteviestrow.com/chapter-24-play-it-again-coco-or-playing-with-the-play-command/
