Programming in BASIC on the Color Computer - Chapter 23 - A new kind of point
ogStevieStrow
Chapter 23 is a departure from many of the high resolution and fancy graphics commands we've learned, it's taking us back to BASIC basics, using some of the low resolution options that were part of the "standard" Color BASIC, mainly the SET, RESET, and POINT commands.
SET will place a low-res pixel on the screen at the X and Y coordinates specified along with one of the 8 available foreground colors.
RESET will set a pixel location to black. POINT will read the color value of a pixel at a given X and Y coordinate.
We also learn how to use the JOYSTK command to read in the X and Y coordinates of the left and right joysticks, and lastly, how to PEEK into memory to see if a joystick button has been pressed.
We then look at some of the demos in the book, and some of the custom demos I created to better visualize these concept.
I hope you enjoy it.
