Programming in BASIC on the CoCo Chapter 31 "It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that string"
ogStevieStrow
Programming in BASIC on the Color Computer chapter 31 is called "It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that string" and introduces us to the following commands:
STRING$ - creates a text string of specified length and character INSTR - searches for a string of text with a string variable, returns the position in which it occurs (or not) MID$ - allows us to extract or replaces a section of text from a string variable by specifying the position within the string, and the length of the text we want. This is a compliment to what we can do with LEFT$ and RIGHT$
We go through the examples in the book, as well as do a few off the cuff examples to illustrate these concept.
We're close to the end, hope you're enjoying!
