Slow playback equals slow editing. You can get smooth playback with these simple tips, and it's all done inside Kdenlive. No matter if your editing 4k footage or simply running Kdenlive on a low-end machine, these can optimise your playback speed for a better editing experience. You can even combine these 3 methods to get real-time playback speed.

Once you're reached picture lock, simply disable Proxy and work on the finer details of your edit, such as color grading, vfx or keying.
