MSFS Add-On Review - DH.88 Comet
Novawing24
The DeHavilland DH.88 Comet was built for two things - Speed and Prestige.
With the advances of German and American technology, the British aviation industry feared it would lose its edge. So with the announcement of a new long distance airrace from England to Australia, a team from DeHavilland was determined to make an impression. Flying for the first time a bare 6 weeks before the race, the DH.88 Comet set new benchmarks for design and construction times while adapting existing and establishing new methodologies of aircraft design and construction. Each aircraft was sold at a fixed price of £5000, less than half the cost of manufacture, the race that Comet was on was not just about speed in the air.
Three Comets were built for the race, with two successfully completing it including being the Overall winner of the race.
New developer Shepbur brings to life this marvel of inter-war aviation in a brand-new aircraft designed from the ground up for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Not only that, but they have also released it to the community for free!
Do they capture the charm and challenge of this aircraft and do its proud racing heritage justice? Find out now in this in-depth review!
