In this tutorial you will learn how to stake your DevNet NIM, select the appropriate validator to either cash out the NIM directly to your DevNet Wallet, or re-stake the rewards directly. The Staking Rewards paid out on DevNet are not representative and will most likely not be as high when the Nimiq Proof of Stake MainNet is launched. Please note that the DevNet Wallet is a product that is still under development and may differ from the Proof of Stake MainNet Wallet when it is released.

The transition of the Nimiq protocol to Proof of Stake is a long-awaited upgrade by the Nimiq community. Our blockchain engineers recently released the release candidate of the Nimiq Proof of Stake DevNet and released RPC access for interested developers to test how it fits their use cases. We have continued to refine and test the DevNet. With RPC access now ready, the next natural step is to integrate DevNet staking into the Nimiq Wallet. Today, we are pleased to present the first DevNet version of Nimiq Proof Of Stake in the Nimiq Wallet.
