Here's a simple attempt at making flying a quad more like driving a car. Steering is done with a steering wheel (a yoke, actually) and a single throttle pedal. In this test, I use the pedal to control altitude, and I control orientation with both hands on the wheel. It takes some practice, but I thought this first attempt went pretty well.
