During World War II, the Soviets noted that strange flying objects were hovering over their troops and stalking their planes. In November 1944, Lev Ovsischer, a navigator on a Soviet bomber, reported a strange bright object in the sky high over the Warsaw airfield. Ovsischer and the crew watched the UFO for over 15 minutes. Then, suddenly the object accelerated into the sky at a shocking speed and disappeared. At the time, the crew had heard nothing about Foo Fighters – either from their US and British allies or their own comrades. But the event so shocked Ovsischer that he started to investigate Soviet military reports of UFOs.
