Encounter at Water

"Water Spirits" have been encountered all over the world throughout the course of time. These malicious aquatic beings are known by names such as the England's Jenny Greenteeth, the Japanese Kappa, Australian Bunyip and Scottish Kelpie. What is going on in these encounters follows a similar pattern, however the experiencer tends to see an image that is tailored to their psychological or cultural background.

This phenomenon is not isolated to history, and this video presents a modern account of it. The interview comes from one of Brenton Sawin's podcasts, his channel is one of many that concern themselves with supernatural encounters. People who have paranormal experiencers tend not to speak of them to protect themselves from being ostracized or shunned from their communities.

The podcast interview offers a way for them to speak anonymously and avoid social repercussions. Although the venue can be abused by people who simply want to tell lies, it is not as common as one would think, as fictionalizations lack the underlying pattern and certain details that are only found in genuine accounts.
