OpenBSD: Shutdown and Reboot
Miyo Linux
This video shows how to use the "doas" utility in order to shutdown and/or reboot your OpenBSD system without having to enter a password.
As root, open your /etc/doas.conf file. If you don't have a doas.conf file, create it.
Add the following lines to the file...
permit nopass your-username cmd reboot permit nopass your-username cmd shutdown
...then save the file.
- When adding reboot and/or shutdown commands to your menu and/or keybindings, make sure to include doas...such as...
doas reboot doas shutdown -h now
Read over the man pages for reboot and shutdown to see if you would prefer other options (in addition to or besides -h) in the commands.
- Reboot your computer for everything to take effect. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fhDV28gpeHg
