The BEST Webcam... is a GOPRO! (2021)

With everyone working from home now, it is very important that you have a cheap, high-quality, and reliable webcam. However, prices of the better-quality Logitech webcams have skyrocketed as everyone has been purchasing them. I ran into this problem when EpocCam (running on an iPhone) did not work well for my mom's video conferences, so I decided to pick up a GoPro Hero 4 and CamLink 4k capture card to use as a webcam.

And the results... outstanding. Not only is it easy to setup and reliable, but it is also incredibly cost-effective. Older GoPros, which are capable of 4k, can be had for well under $100. Also, 1080p 60fps (which is the GoPro capture limit) capture cards can be had for $20-$50. So for around the same cost (if not less) than a webcam setup, you can get a huge quality boost that is sure to impress your coworkers!

In this video, first review the GoPro and compare it to some other webcam solutions. Then, I show you in detail how to set it up, configure it in OBS to get the best quality, and how to use the iPhone app to wirelessly control the camera when you aren't video conferencing.
