Land Rover Defender TD5 Deployable Side Steps Part 1 (The introduction)

In an earlier video I told you I was creating a new project for my TD5 using air actuators. Well here it is, well part 1 anyway! I had originally fitted Brit Part tubular steps to the truck but they had rusted out after only 18 months so I was far from impressed. It dawned on me that why should only Disco owners have the luxury of deployable side steps? So I set about making some of my own because as far as I know there are no such steps like mine available to buy off the shelf. Part 1 is to show you how far I have got and to prove the concept. Part 2 onwards will then go into a little more detail on how I made the parts and control gear needed to make them fully functional. Follow the video series as I think it will be of interest to you even if you don't want to add steps to your Defender!!
