Apple TV box. Screen mirroring on the cheap.
Mike Makes It
When I'm videoing at a bench I find it useful to be able to see the subject matter and this can be difficult if the camera (iPhone in my case) is in a holder above the desk. I need to keep an eye on the camera screen and what I'm actually working on or else, as has happened, I'll wander "off shot". I have tried various "apps" for the iPhone to enable screen mirroring and "cast" the display to a Chrome cast and a monitor. I have, to date not been able to find a reliable way to do this. To this end I have bought a cheap £15 Apple TV box. Using this and the built in Airplay on the phone I can now, at last, cast reliably to a monitor. As I say in the video its a cheap setup; £15 all in for the Apple TV box, including cables and remote, connected to a 2009 DVI input monitor that was just taking up cupboard space. So a result all round. Let me know what you think or how it can be improved. A thumbs up would be great as well!
