Hyperbolic Functions: Catenary: Example 3: Telephone Lines

In this video I go over another example on catenary hyperbolic functions, and this time determine the slope and angle at which a telephone line is sagging between two poles. Telephone lines are usually left hanging between poles and thus it is important to be able to engineer the distance and length of the lines at each segment. Using the equation of a catenary I show how we can find the slope of the catenary at the telephone line pole and from there workout the angel between the catenary and the pole. This is a simple yet important example in understanding the mathematics behind everyday objects such as the telephone lines around us, so make sure to watch this video!
