Converting Text to a Table using "Fixed Width Text to Columns" in Microsoft Excel

When I was writing my thesis I needed to prepare data tables from text files so I needed a way to convert text to tables in Microsoft Excel. I already knew how to use the Delimited Text to Columns option but the data I was using is all separated by a space except some numbers had a negative number. The negative sign messed up the data so the Delimited option does not work. But Microsoft Excel actually has a pretty amazing "Fixed Width Text to Columns" option which allows to make custom columns and for the most type of data this should work. This is an extremely important concept to learn so make sure to watch this video as it will save you a lot of time and effort when dealing with large amounts of data!
