Langkawi - Beyond the runway

There is large vacant piece of reclaimed and abandoned land beyond the end of the runway of Langkawi's airport, mostly populated by nesting birds, or traversed by locals on their way to fish or forage shellfish in the bay formed by the breakwater. It's one of my favourite parts of Langkawi. It's a lovely spot for an evening walk, though the grass burrs may stick to your clothing. Almost no one ever goes there.
