Ambient Hacking Ableton Reason Logic with rtpMidi & Jack Router PC / Mac
LogicProHacks
Hoping this will bring much conversation about the topic of: "Audio over Networking". In the video: A cool audio Hack where I am testing out multiple computer sound sources through a local area network (LAN). Using a couple of programs called: Jack Router and rtpMIDI. My Hardware: Two older PC laptops and a Mac Pro 1,1. The 1st, laptop is Win 7 / Reason 5, an the other PC is a Win 7 with Ableton Live 9, The Mac Pro (Master), is recording to Logic Pro X. Network settings: A simple VLAN on a dedicated Cisco 2960G Gigabit switch. Audio Settings: A very pristine 48 kHz Sample Rate, 128 I/O buffer size. I was able to get the Jackd Net protocol to pump audio over the network in Cisco VLAN. MIDI: Is perfectly synced to all machines using Mac OS X MIDI LAN studio (AMS) and Tobias Erichsen's rtpMIDI for the windows side. I plan to make another video in great detail on how to set all of this up, real soon. However, on my YouTube channel, I have an older video that just shows how to network and sync between Ableton and Reason here: https://youtu.be/wbTkUp3AFM8 ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sW_3hlB42XY
