In this vlog I speak about how I understand Linux. Please add your comments and corrections!!!! So that other readers can enjoy the full picture!
As a follow up, I shared this vlog post in a linux group for checkup and to make sure I have not missed anything. And these are some add-ons which I received!
" What we call Linux or GNU/Linux (as opposed to the Linux Kernel) is a sub-family of the BSD Unix Operating system family to which Mac OS X belongs."
"What we call Linux or GNU/Linux (as opposed to the Linux Kernel) is a sub-family of the BSD Unix Operating system family to which Mac OS X belongs. Other than that this is a good explanation. Thank you.
I would add that this 'onion' layer is also made of building 'blocks' such that you can build a single block of any layer. A onion layer is defined as responsibility and inward trust. the kernel can talk freely to it's inner hardware layer but the desktop can't. It must go through the OS, then the OS to the Kernel etc." Mike Washburn
