Patriotic Pixel Art Animation with MS Paint
Kevin Tracy
This pixel art animation is a revisiting of an old project I did in a high school computer programming class back in 2001. It's where I learned how to use MS Paint as well as I use it today and there's some good story behind it as well; which I share here. I created it using The Windows 98 version of Microsoft Paint, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Animate; which is the new version of Adobe Flash.
This features an Independence Day Parade with marching soldiers and cheering sprites, including a veteran, lined up along the street. It's based on the traditional American Folk Art style. I'm really happy with how everything looks animated, especially since this is my first time doing animation like this in 19 years.
Leave a comment below if you had mentors like me in high school, teachers who went above and beyond to help you in one way or another to become who you are today. If so, do you keep in contact with them?
