Making a Star Trek Comm Badge out of Scrap Wood

I needed to make a gift for my wife's birthday present since I spent all of my money on liquid refreshment (I'm a sucker for YooHoo). Since she's a Star Trek fan, I decided to make her an oversized Star Trek comm badge from The Next Generation.

This is primarily a Scroll Saw project with some roundover bit action from my router table for a finishing touch. If you have any questions about how I built this... or will build this, please leave a comment below.
