In this tutorial I'll be going over how to install the Technic Launcher 1/7.2 (Tekkit) for Minecraft. The Technic Platform has over 2000 pages worth of modpacks publically available for various versions of Minecraft.

The Technic Platform provides an easy to use launcher that allows you to compartmentalize various modpacks into a single location for quick access; utilizing the technic launcher you can separate modpacks so they do not interfere with each other.

With over 2000 public modpacks available on the Technic Platform, you can play modpacks that suit your needs. The Technic Platform also allows you to create your own modpacks fairly easily (a tutorial that I will cover in the future, as well).

With Technic, you can have up to 3 modpacks on your account.

With the Technic Launcher, you can also designate how much memory to utilize when playing modpacks; due to the nature and size of some of the modpacks on Technic, its generally a good idea to set at least 2gb of ram to in the launcher.

If for some reason you cannot see anything higher than 1gb of ram in the Technic Launcher, yet you know you have a lot more, it could be due to the following reasons:

► You may not have a 64-bit Operating System installed (your System settings only show up to 3gb of ram) ► You may not have 64-bit Java (the most common problem) ► You may not have at least Java 7 installed (the second most common problem) ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZJxHb4r4yc
