NFT.com Genesis Keys Blind Auction (What? When? Why? Where? How?)
Jon Ray
NFT.com has announced the date of the blind auction for their Genesis Keys and 3,000 lucky people will be on the whitelist.
How does a blind auction work? How much will the Genesis Keys cost? What IS NFT.com and what IS a Genesis Key?!
In this video we’ll cover all that - and more!
Hey everyone, it's Jon Ray with Jade Protocol, and I wanted to talk a bit about NFT’s in this video, but more importantly, one of the most promising upcoming marketplaces our analysts at Jade Protocol have found.
NFT.com
We’ve covered JADEs partnership briefly in another video and Medium article, but now that we have an official date for the Genesis Key blind auction, I thought I’d do a deeper dive so we can unpack it all together.
Genesis keys are a collection of 10,000 unique NFT’s that give you the metaphorical ‘key’ to NFT.com. Graphically, tThese keys wereare created by a renowned design studio and have varying rarity. But they’re less about the art and more about these two primary use cases:
They allow users to access the future of the NFT space which will be the NFT.com protocol as it’s developed- Genesis key holders will get access to the actual website where they’ll open up additional utility (specifically, one of the first perks will be NFT.com profiles).
Each Genesis key unlocks two nft.com profiles—so, we heard Mr. Wonderful say in his video that he wanted to get NFT.com/watches and your genesis key gives you two URLs that you can lock in early, and of course just like ENS domains or dotcoms, we can imagine that certain NFT.com domains will have the potential for a lot of attention, which is interesting of course because each profile is its own NFT that can be bought, sold, or traded—so being on the whitelist and participating in the blind auction creates a scenario where you get access to these NFT.com profiles before anyone else
NFT.com has the same inherent benefits that domains like crypto.com, bitcoin.com and blockchain.com all share, and it’s poised to become a staple domain destination in the crypto space. I don’t think anyone is going to disagree that NFT.com, just because of the domain name recognition, has the potential to easily become a future market leader. And who wouldn’t want to be on the ground floor, helping make decisions in the protocol, and gaining early access to a future market leader? Sign me up!
The NFT.com DAO which we touched a bit on before, allows the community to act on the direction of the project via proposal submission and voting, similar to how the Jade community submitted the proposal for BuyBot 2.0 that then went to an on-chain vote
Genesis Key holders are going to have the power to help kickstart the direction of this project. Imagine having a sizable impact in the direction of som ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eX3FkzqmheY
