Polaroid Cube HD: testing the magnet with Super Soco TS. A ride between Pontida, Odiago, Brivio.
Jolla-Devices: Sailfish OS and Tech videos
I wanted to test the magnet strength of the mighty Polaroid Cube HD on... the Super Soco TS / TC! There is not much metal in the bike to grip on, because the fairings are made of ABS, but there are 3 points where the action camera is fixed in a firm way.
The first point is in the middle of the fork, accessible both on the right and on the left, a second point is at the top of the fork, on the closing nut of the same. A third point is above the locking nut of the brake block / knobs, although as you will see the camera tends to rotate! Of course the footage will change dramatically depending on the point chosen.
The route is an itinerary on the north side of a mountain, between Pontida and Brivio, let's say a mixed hill / plain descending to the Adda river and then returning to the top up to Pontida. Difference in altitude 80-100 meters approximately.
Good watching! J-D
VERDICT The Polaroid Cube HD can be your dashcam for motorbike. The magnet is strong enough to stay firmly in place on the flat metallic surfaces. If you have one you can safely use it as a removable action camera, but I don't recommend to buy it with this purpose in mind. (There are older GoPro models to be considered).
