CCP Incoming: Resolve Yourself

The interconnectivity and relative peace that international commerce provides is a double edged sword. It can also be observed as a global entanglement of values which create powerful inhibitions against standing up for human rights where a cash cow trading partner like China is concerned.

Instead of drifting towards democracy as we may have hoped after the conflict ridden CCP seemed settled down in the late 1900s, the regime ruthlessly massacred the citizens that simply wanted democracy in 1989. That was the signal the free world ignored post 1989; Hong Kong, Tibet, East Turkistan, and in some ways Eastern Africa, are the signals we can not affort to ignore today.

Do the right thing. Cherish the paramount value of the free world: human rights. Don't tolerate its denigration even if it's "lucrative" to do so. Resolve yourself for what you will have to do when the time comes.
