How To Setup Recovery Email On ProtonMail - ProtonMail Recovery Email Setup (2020)

When you first sign up for a ProtonMail account you can choose to set a recovery email. But if you didn't do that, then here's what you do.

Follow these steps to setup a recovery email on ProtonMail:

1. Login to your ProtonMail account.
2. Then go to the Settings page.
3. Under the Notifications section, where it says Reset/notification email, type in your recovery email address.
4. Click Save.
5. Enter in your password and click Submit.

That's it, you're done, you can now recover your account if you lose your password.

However, remember that your old emails on ProtonMail cannot be recovered because they're all encrypted with your previous password. You can only recover your email address and account, not the old emails.
